Upside-Down Wardrobe

What does your wardrobe consist of? How many ‘tops’ (blouses, shirts, t-shirts etc.) and ‘bottoms’ (skirts/pants) have you got?

Some ladies prefer to wear dresses - you don’t have to think about combinations. Put a dress on - and your look is ready.

Style theory teaches us, that we need 3-4 ‘tops’ for each ‘bottom’ to make an easy-to-combine wardrobe. That is, for example, for one skirt you need button-down blouse for office, sequinned top for party, t-shirt to go out quickly and a jacket for cool days. You can mix and combine these garments, add scarves or printed stockings, and get a new image twice a day.  Sounds really cool!

But at the same time we can make vice-versa wardrobe and turn out closet upside down. Imagine… 30 skirts. All different. All suit your shape and personality. All deliver a message you want. All made of fabrics you’ve chosen yourself. 

What kind of top do you need for this skirt? The basic one. The simple one. The one that is not demanding. Easy to care about.  The skirt has made a statement already. 

What about this skirt? Or this one? 

Do you feel like a princess? A queen? A top-model?

As for me I prefer trousers. Imagine… 20 pairs of pants. All different. All great on you and serve you in the best way. Tight one, and loose one, formal and casual, evening or even bridal. Full length and cropped. Retro and futuristic. Pants with drapery. Tulle pants. Lace pants.  What else can you think of?

What advantages does ‘upside-down closet’ have?

1.Savings! You don’t have to wash and clean your trousers as often as tops. All fabrics suffer from laundry, and pants will serve you much longer than a shirt, so you save a lot on buying less expensive tops and custom-made trousers.  

It is wise and stylish to invest in the garments that serve you longer. 

2.Confidence! Trousers that fit is a pretty rare thing. You will be noticed in custom-made pants, and get lots of compliments - because your shape will be presented in the best way. You will be confident and sure that you look great. 

3.Time! You need less time to make your looks with custom-made trousers, because they always fit, they suit all your tops, and you won’t get stressed when dressing up in the morning. 

4.Express yourself! Custom-made trousers is the best way to express yourself through clothes. The same reason - really good pair of pants is a rare thing. 

Psychologists say that people express themselves more truly with their lower half of the body. Subconsciously we control our upper half - pose, gesture, mimics, but let our legs be. If you need to wear white buttoned-down shirt, why not add grey or black trousers with unforgettable princess lines? And small but colourful decor? 

5.Sex appeal. Nobody will be surprised with a naked bum. But meters of quality fabric is a real surprise of true beauty. Plus - not the least - there are endless possibilities to  flatter your shape/height/anything-you-prefer-to-hide-from-others. 

6.We are not top-models, we are real women with our own history, life and our own flaws. It is OK to have flaws, nobody is flawless, but why showing, when you can hide them? Tailored trousers have power to conceal a lot.
